After a bad start to the second half of the week the weekend took pity on me and provided me with a few more shiny pokemon.
Pokemon Go
I've been spending me week hunting for that seemingly elusive new shiny wooloo. I want that black sheep! But so far nothing. I've been checking and catching every sheep I see and yet nada. My hunt for the black sheep will continue but I have a feeling that after giving me two shiny purple whales and Sunday saw me nab 5 shiny Falinks in 15 raids that the sheep will not be provided. But that doesn't mean I won't stop hunting.
Let's Go Pikachu!
I took a few days off shiny hunting in Let's Go on the nintendo. Mainly due to jumping onto the playstation 5 instead to play a new game I got recently; Ratchett and Clank Rift Apart. I'll post separately on this game as its awesome! The graphics alone are worth checking it out.
After my attempt at shiny hunting a caterpie and coming up with other shiny pokemon I fancied an in-game change of location. So I headed back into Mt. Moon where I set my sights on that shiny golden nugget - Geodude. It took a few hours and I admit to nearly giving up but I kept going, keeping one eye on the game and the other on my laptop as I set to working on my book. Which did help pass the shiny hunting time but also made me miss it when the golden geodude finally popped up. It was a mad scramble to grab my controller and chase after it, but I got it making it the fourth shiny to capture in a nintendo switch game.
After the geodude I headed back to Viridian Forest and thought I'd try my hand at hunting a shiny Oddish. I got my catch count to 31 after 3 attempts as the first two chain starts resulted in a fleeing Oddish which resets the catch count đ«. But I finally got there and sat back and waited with the laptop open once more.
It seems that when I'm shing hunting in Viridian Forest the pokemon I'm shiny hunting it never the one that appears... even when I've achieved the required catch count. I was waiting for that fully green Oddish when those silver sparkles appeared over a Pikachu. It's a good job those sparkles appear as without them hunting some pokemon would be next to impossible as the Pikachu is practically the same, just an ever so slightly darker tone of yellow that is almost impossible to spot. Especially in the grass. But as I always say, a shiny is a shiny.
So, it was back to the catch count. I was chasing the Oddish around, trying to get that 31 count back when within 15 minutes of catching that Pikachu I noticed something neon orange in the grass. I had no idea what it was until I ran into it and voila, it was only a shiny Metapod. I had no idea what one looked like in shiny form as it wasn't one I had looked into so it was nice to catch one without trying.
That was how my week ended in the Pokemon game. 5 shiny Falinks in Pokemon Go and 3 shinies in Let's Go Pikachu. Let's see what this next week brings. Will it bring me that shiny black sheep or that shiny green Oddish? Keep your fingers crossed and let's hope.
